L.A. Guns ROCKS Tucson -

L.A. Guns February 2008, Tucson, Az. – For those of you who have not had the pleasure of experiencing a flashback to the 80’s rock scene I encourage you to check out the never ending sounds of L.A. Guns. We recently got the opportunity to go to Tucson to witness the magic first-hand. L.A. Guns brought their “L.A.”-Game with them and took us all back to a time when music was the reason we were there.

The ageless vocals of Paul Black, originally the drummer for an upcoming 80’s band called Faster Pussycat, Paul moved into the Front Man position and was teamed up with what would become one of the legendary rock guitarists known as Tracii Guns. Although many changes took place between Paul and the L.A. Guns line up between 1984 and 2004, in 2005 they re-grouped and he took over the reigns of something that he wrote and co-wrote songs for but did not take part in when they were originally released.  Many of his earlier projects include The Mau Maus, The Jonses and Black Cherry. You can check out a variety of his music on www.blackcitymusic.com.

The magical Guitar sound is still and was alive that night in the playing styles of Tracii Guns. Yeah Yeah, I know Guns-N-Roses original Co-Founder…trust me I could do a whole other article on this subject and you know I probably will. He also teamed up with Nikki Sixx in 2002 to form the hard hitting group “Brides Of Destruction”. The list of talented musicians Tracii has played with is endless and although he has not yet fully received the recognition that he so well deserves, true music fans know of his great contributions.

The heart-thumping Bass of newcomer Jeremy Guns was something of a show in itself. Jeremy also does vocals for a “Brides of Destruction” song called “Shut the F*** Up”. Although he is considered the “kid” in the band he certainly holds his own and the possibilities for this bright new rock star are endless. This is one Bass player you should keep your eyes on.

Drums and backing vocals by Chad Stewart are something not to be missed. Chat, the newest addition to the drum throne for L.A.Guns fits in like he was born to play with the other members. Although no stranger to the LA rock scene Chad has played for such bands as “Faster Pussycat”, “Pretty Boy Floyd” and “Enuff Znuff” just to name a few.  Chad, no doubt, is making his mark on the eyes and ears of those who support and enjoy what real rock music is all about.

This show was probably one of the most “Fan Friendly” shows I have been to in a while. The smaller venue setting of the club made it easy for those of us who were there to actually feel like we were part of the show. In fact, for their greatest hit “The Ballad Of Jane”, Paul actually invited all the ladies in the house to sit on stage with him and the rest of the band. If I didn’t know who they were I would never have guessed they were some of the founding fathers who were instrumental in shaping the LA rock scene. It’s very rare that you run into a situation where the people working the club are more distant then the bands who are playing them. This band is definitely one to keep a watch on, and you can bet I will be keeping you up to date on their activities and when they will be visiting us again.
